How to improve running speed

Plyometric training promotes a highly effective neuromuscular stimulus to improve running performance. Due to the quick rebounds, jumping rope involves mainly foot muscles and joints and might be considered a type of plyometric training for improving power and stiffness, some of the key factors for endurance-running performance.

A study by Garcia et al. found that 5 mins of skipping 2-4x/week for 10 weeks significantly improved running speed and plyometric ability.

Skipping also can be beneficial for general health and fitness.
